ASSESSMENT OF PARKING SPACE MANAGEMENT OF FEDERAL CAPITAL CITY, ABUJA

The paper assesses the Parking space management in Federal capital city, Abuja with a view of providing an everlasting solution to challenges facing study area. Data for were obtained through semi-structured questionnaire, observation, monitoring, recording and document review. A total 387 copies questionnaire administered purposive sampling techniques was adopted. data analyzed using descriptive statistics frequency analysis technique help Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS). findings from showed that parking problems within area associated Off-Street On-Street parking. predominantly occurs around Converted Commercial Developments. Among various commercial activities area, Plazas had highest off-street on-street problems. Also, reveals that, there is statistical significant relationship between traffic congestion. impact revealed, such as, Traffic congestion, accident, pollution obstruction fire fighter. factors responsible identified include, inadequate facilities, concentration facilities FCC, non-implementation FCC transportation policy, violation building codes zoning regulations. concluded by suggesting strategies efficient system enforcement Rules Regulations Disciplined Law Enforcement Agent, Introduction public garages, Enlightenment users.
